Sugar treats with my little sweets.
OMG, So sorry for the late update.
It's just that Pre IB is totally busy and I got absolutely NO TIME to update. I think I'm gonna be posting a lot, like 5 posts maybe, since maybe this is my last chance. *cry*
Starting with this one, "Sugar treats with my little sweets".
Well last Saturday we did a Community Service project. FYI, Community Service is a special subject provided in IB program. It's where we should do a 4 hours community service and make a report about it. Mr. Rick, our Community Service teacher, told us we should make a 450+ words report. Psh. Bummer.
Anyway, me and my little 'sweets', Natasha (@nattssanjaya), Sisilia (@cuppycakesisil), Jessica (@jesstattianas), Novia (@nophxoxo), and Stephanie (@vanilLaLaLove17) decides to make a little sugar treat : cupcakes and cookies. Now all of you might now about my cupcake frenzy (LOL) so I immediately agree and look for the cupcake recipee.
We decide to make CCarrot Cupcakes, cause since we're going to give it away to the little kids in the villages we should give away something delicious and healthy at the same time. Natasha found the cupcake recipee, and I found the cookie. The cookie's called Bev's Chocolate Chip Cookies. It's made out of rolled oats, so it's low in carbs and no saturated fat.
We started at 12 noon and looked for the ingredients at Ranch Market in Galaxy Mall. We only buy a few things though, they're too expensive. Then while waiting for Novia's driver to pick us up my friends still managed to buy Starbucks. LOL. Then the driver picked us up and takes us to a really small store nearby, which is where people usually buy ingredients for baking. The worker there pissed us off. She like really want us to hurry hurry hurry when we really have no idea what is what and where it is.
After a half an hour we finally got all the stuff we need to bake 30 chocolate cookies and 20+ cupcakes, we directly go to Natasha's place to start baking. Well to be honest I panicked a lot, and by a lot i mean ALMOST ALL THE TIME. I'm really scared of Natasha being late for the party she has to attend at 6 PM, and that everything won't go well.
Here's us cooking :
the ingredients.
stephanie, peeling the apple.
novia, grating the carrot.
natasha, with the grated apple.
me and jessica, grating the carrots.
the dough
jessica, with the mixture of all the previous ingredients.
dough in the liners.
But turns out everything did go well, the first cupcake batch is ready and then we took one and tasted it. It was heaven, it's like a cinnamon cupcake with a little fresh and chocolatey flavor. You can't barely taste the carrot but you know it's there. Oh God I really hope the kids are gonna love these as much as we do.
first batch, fresh from the oven. you can see the chocolate chips, raisins, and walnuts in it.
The icing meanwhile, is kinda soury sweet, but it goes really well with the cake. It's like they're made for each other, which they are. They are made for each other.
cream cheese icing. yum.
this is novia's cupcake. she makes the best icing.
we added some chocolate chip and chocolate sprinkles on top. it's really good.
The cookies are pretty good. Even though we ruined the first batch LOL. But the rest's fine, delicious actually, we just need to work on the shape of the cookies LOL.
sisilia and natasha, tasting the dough I guess.
we used mixer, as told so in the recipe.
the first batch, ahh failure-_-
And we refrigerate all of them, and Natasha made it to the party on time. We all went home on time. Thank God.
The cooking process took 3 -4 hours, approx. Then on Monday after school we divided them to the less fortunate kids. We found a whole group of kids playing soccer, and two little kids playing at the side of the street. We gave them one each. I really hope they like it.
Good news is, we've done the big project before all the little home works started flooding.
Bad news is, I lost my lens cover. *cry*
XOXO,
